Charity Life Insurance

The Charity Life Insurance Program allows you to provide for a larger legacy tomorrow with a smaller commitment today. Although charities are always looking to fund immediate needs, they also recognize that their future needs are growing and must plan now for the future.

It Benefits both You and Your Charity

You will receive a receipt for the entire amount of the life insurance premiums you donate each year. When the life insurance proceeds are transferred to your charity, there is no tax receipt generated, but the funds are received by the charity, tax-free.

It's Easy

With the Charity Life Insurance Program, your commitment is only for three or five years, at which time the program is paid-up.

It's Flexible

If for some reason you cannot continue with the payment of your annual premiums after the first year on a 3-year plan; or after the second year on a 5-year plan, a percentage of your coverage will automatically become paid-up. This ensures that your favourite charity will receive a future gift from you.

A Great Way to Secure the Future

The gift of life insurance is the perfect way to leave a substantial legacy in the future and at the same time generate immediate tax credits with each affordable premium payment you make.

Name LAW as a Beneficiary of your RRSP or RRIF

Donors can make charitable gifts by naming a charity as a beneficiary of an insurance policy, RRSP or RRIF. The donor does not have to pass these assets through their estates when they gift them to a charity to be eligible to receive the tax receipt in the year of death.

Invest in a Charitable Gift Annuity

A charitable gift annuity is a financial planning tool that can maintain and even enhance your after-tax income while providing substantial financial aid to Lawyers for Animal Welfare (LAW). An annuity is very secure, guaranteeing your rate of return and thereby, the amount of your annual payments, for life. This is an excellent vehicle for donors who are 70 years or older and can afford to invest at least $10,000.

Establish a Charitable Remainder Trust

This gift opportunity allows you to give cash or assets during your lifetime while enjoying the income from that asset for the remainder of your life. Throughout your lifetime you will receive income from this living trust, but upon your death, the "remainder" will pass directly to Lawyers for Animal Welfare (LAW) as the named beneficiary. This type of gift is most suitable for those aged 70 plus, who are able to invest $100,000 or more in the trust.

Workplace Giving

Many companies have established workplace giving programs involving a payroll deduction plan (where a small donation is automatically deducted from each paycheque), a matching gift program (where the business matches the employee's donation) or special event fundraising initiatives.

Find out if your business has an organized giving program and join in to support the work of Lawyers for Animal Welfare (LAW). If your business doesn't have a giving program, think about starting one.

In-Kind Giving

In-kind giving is a contribution of goods. Examples, include, but are not limited to, donations of new and surplus inventory, artwork and any other non-cash product. Donors are eligible to receive a gifts-in-kind tax receipt for the fair market value of the goods.

If you are interested in making an in-kind gift, please contact Lawyers for Animal Welfare (LAW) at info@lawyersforanimalwelfare.com.

Donate Your Old Car

Participate in Cars for Charity by donating your old vehicle to Lawyers for Animal Welfare (LAW) through the Standard Auto Wreckers Vehicle Donation Program.

In addition to receiving a tax receipt for your donation, you'll be helping to clean up the environment. Older, less efficient cars are major contributors to air pollution and landfill problems in Canada. The vehicle donation program ensures proper recycling of these vehicles.

If you have an end-of-life vehicle that you would like to donate with proceeds going to Lawyers for Animal Welfare (LAW) visit: http://www.charitycar.ca/lawyers-for-animal-welfare-.html.

Your vehicle will be sold for parts recycling or to a dealer depending on the condition and location. The net proceeds will be remitted to Lawyers for Animal Welfare (LAW) and we will send you a tax receipt.
